Before patients begin a treatment plan, it's important to ask about biomarkers. Biomarkers can help you understand what your tumor is made of, and they can also let you know what treatments you may qualify for or which treatments are unlikely to work. Many clinical trials are designed around biomarkers. The first step is getting tested.

Informed by findings from our published research on unmet patient needs, we understand the critical role personalized support services play. Our Patient Navigator Program for GI Cancers is led by certified navigators who guide patients through the complexities of biomarkers, clinical trials, and general oncology, addressesing obstacles to receiving timely, high-quality care across the entire cancer continuum—from screening and diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.

We connect patients currently facing a GI cancer diagnosis with trained mentors, either survivors or experienced caregivers, who have successfully navigated similar medical journeys. We bridge the gap between clinical medical care and the complex emotional and practical needs that patients encounter throughout their diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.

This unified advocacy group represents the voices, perspectives, and experiences of patients and caregivers within the GI cancer community. Our mission is to ensure that all GI cancers are collectively represented, emphasizing the strength found in collaboration and shared advocacy efforts. Interested in applying?
